I have had three nights of good sleep in a row.......Life is sweet! Here are some early pictures of our sweet boy~

I love all the color that Families are incorporating into family photos lately! It just feels good....ya know?
Hopefully, gone are the days of everyone in matching shirts....(I am guilty of that one...but it was in style at one point, right??)
Here is a sneak peak for some of my clients that LOVE color as much as I do! The cutest kids with the greatest smiles.....
Check out the little one....he was a dream to photograph (well, they all were) but for a little guy he did very well~
Enjoy....hope these will put your mind at ease after our crazy adventure of a photoshoot! I forgot my 2nd card for my camera (never done that before), ran to Allen's to buy one, that one threw a fit on me and we ended up ending the session early! I had to take the card and run a recovery but luckily...everything was there! And I was so glad that it was!! So here are the results.........

I Am taking photos...I am just too lazy and big, and tired, and pregnant to actually post them. But I have a few that I was working on tonight and the boys are in bed and I thought "Why Not??" So here are just two that I loved from this cute family session......

We are expecting a NEW baby in Nov on Thanksgiving day....(How appropriate)! We are all very excited!!
As you might have noticed, my blog is a little behind schedule due to the fact that I have been sick for the
last 13 weeks. I am in my 19th week and I think I am pulling through it but still have bad moments~
As yucky as it has been, I am excited and look forward to finding out what we are having in a few weeks.

Love that I get to spend every day with these two little monkeys! When the 2 older monkeys were at school I bribed these two into letting me take pictures while they jumped on my bed....they couldn't resist!

And we did get plenty of jumping in....

This adorable, sqeezable little sweetie turned 1 yesterday! We had planned to take pictures last week but the whole family came down with the swine flu. Good news is that everyone is back up and going.....and the weather held out for us! (thank you weather!) Just one short year ago we did this little ones newborn photos.....my how time flies! Anyway, I know this mom can't sleep until she sees something.....so now you can go to sleep! Goodnight! And thanks for the fun night!!!

This was my first session of the year where my beautiful clients wore sweaters and tights and scarfs and all the fabulous
layering that fall allows. I love this time of year! And I love this fabulous client and her family~ They were actually my very first clients! They saw some potential in me.....way back when....and have privileged me with taking their photos ever since. And, it doesn't hurt that they are all just stunning! And I know you hate to wait almost as much as I do....soooo

Here is the latest family shoot! I know it has been an incredibly long time since I last posted! I think I may have lost all of my blog followers...LOL~ My summer has been absolutely the craziest, and busiest, but we have been having so much fun! (just not a lot of time for photo posts...)
I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous family who happened to be visiting Utah from Korea. Did you notice all the little boys and then one little girl....hmmm? Maybe there is hope for me....though sometimes I wonder if I am not better off just sticking with the boys!

Allow me to introduce Miss Pleasant Grove! This gorgeous girl is getting ready to compete in the Miss Utah scholarship pageant (part of the Miss America organization). She is super sweet, very talented, and very involved in community service. She needed photos for the program book and so I had a chance to spend the afternoon with her capturing these. I think her personality really shines through.....

Do you ever have those days where you get a chance to dig through that box of old photos? My monkey #2 two turned 7 this week and I pulled out the "box" to put a poster together for his class. It didn't take long for me to become very nostalgic. I couldn't believe the time had flown so quickly....and suddenly felt this overwhelming gratitude for each of the photos in my box. I wouldn't remember those things without the photos. I couldn't really remember exactly how chubby his little arms were, and how bright his little eyes twinkled when he smiled. I would never have realized how his baby brother looked just like him as a baby.
My photos are priceless to me! And they become more valuable as time passes. It is like having a magical power that allows you the ability to capture a moment and save it just as it is... forever!

This is why I decided to pursue photography.
Its power always amazes me.
So I found this amazing clip that really captures how I feel about photography.
....and remember - Keep Me, Protect Me, Share Me… don’t keep your photos in a box, or a drawer or on the computer!! Put them all around you, enjoy them, let them last forever....

I have to make a confession~ Because I have 4 little monkey boys and no girls to splurge on...well, I totally live through my clients! In fact, a few of them (Liz & Bel...lol) I call up and tell them what I just saw at this store or that store.....and They BUY it! It is the most rewarding little guilty pleasure to take photos of these beautiful little girls in Fabulous clothes and I don't even have to spend one dime! Ok....I feel much better now that I have that out on the table! Thanks Liz for indulging me! And my hubby thanks you too! Hope you enjoy these photos.....even 1/2 as much as I did taking them!

I had a chance to take these photos for my sis-in-law last fall. It was right in the middle of my busy season so I never posted them...I thought you might like to have a look at this darling couple. So....This is my second time photographing this little guy....and I have come to grips with the fact that he does not like my camera!!! (I am sure it is just the camera...lol) So this shoot was truly funny! The parents are so sweet and they stayed so calm as he cried and cried. He was in love with all the trucks so that was good and bad.....once he got a hold of the trucks he didn't want anything else~And really, who can blame a guy?? I am happy to say that we still found success~ And in the end I think you guys will be so thrilled to see what I captured and look back on this day with a good chuckle~! Remember our beautiful Maternity Mom....?? This is the little chubba-lubba that was tucked inside and she is just 5 days old! She weighed in at 9lbs 10oz (I think?) and is trying to catch up to her 4 older siblings already! She is just a little snuggle bug! Had to put these on for the mom, who is recovering from her 5th C-section at home....hope these cheer you up!! Get well soon and stay down!! (so glad her sweet mom and dad are here to help her for the next few weeks....lucky girl!)

Isn't this just a cover model family! This is my BIL's family. They are all so beautiful and so sweet! They got together for a family photo before the youngest brother was set to leave on an LDS (Mormon) mission. He will be in Cambodia for 2 years. It was a lot of fun and lots of joking but a bit of emotion too.

The adult pictures were so easy.....because they are all so photogenic and easy going.....the little kids? Not as easy....LOL but oh they were so dang cute. I hardly ever add an outtake but this was just too funny! Plus I don't know if I have one where they are all happy?!

Finally, I am going to post some of my boy! We took these in July but I haven't posted them yet and I just love them.....mommy goggles??? I am just smitten with all of my boys and this little "man" is no exception! The whole reason that I started this journey was to have photos of my own boys and so I am 1 for 4 and three more to go before Sept. ends! (that's my goal anyway~)
Best of all....This little guy asked ME to take his pictures.....are you serious?? The son of a photographer asking ME to take his photos....are you kidding? OF COURSE I will take your pictures!!! Ask me anytime.....

My MOM and DAD!

I called my parents this morning and said, "I am coming to take some photos of you...get ready!" So it was too quick for them to think of a way out....hehehe~ I was really happy with how they turned out. I just love these people! It was so interesting to look at them through my lens and see them interact. They seemed so young today and so happy to be together. It was interesting to me today how through my lens they seemed more like people than parents...does that make sense? I loved how they were shy and goofy and nervous with my big camera in their faces. I loved that they seemed vulnerable and have perhaps just been guessing their way through life like the rest of us this whole time and I didn't even know it! Now don't get me wrong...they are wise and wonderful! And fabulous grandparents might I add! How rude that my babies first word after Dada was "bampa". I love you both you so much! Hope you like the pictures.

This Family was an absolute joy to work with. The whole family has been living in Italy as Mormon LDS missionaries. The father is over the entire mission there. The children are here for the summer and for Mom's birthday she wanted family photos while all the children are together and before the oldest daughter leaves on her mission. We had two shoots because one of my lenses went out on me....and they were so gracious to allow me to do a re-shoot. I loved the interaction between these kids. They are so kind to one another, so thoughtful, so complimentary. I was so impressed with them. Hats off to Karen and Jeff....You guys have done an amazing job! Being the mom of 4 little boys is my dream job! I love everything about having boys! We have so much fun playing every sport, wrestling, running, jumping, and laughing! I LOVE it all! But....if there is one thing that I can't enjoy with my boys...as those of you who read my blog know...it is getting my girl fill when I get to take pictures of adorable little girls and all their frills! And I have been on a roll lately with the girls and I have another family of girls next week! So...Lucky ME! I love both my jobs!!! That is just the best word that I can think of to describe these girls! Well...Photogenic also comes to mind! Ok...and fabulous, lovely, sweet, and so fun! We had such a great time taking these pictures and I had the very hardest time deciding which ones to show. I LOVE them all! But here are some of my very favs! Which one is your favorite??

What a fun day! I got to take photos of the cutest, sweetest, most fun couple! They were so happy and easy going and let me try anything I wanted to! I promised them a few sneak peaks tonight but I thought I would add my favorites of the close ups and hopefully they will like them too! There are so MANY more fun ones so I may have to add more later....

So...he finally needed some photos for work....and he let me have a go of it! Of course the day we decided to take the photos the weather was terrible...blowing, snowing, freezing! So we tried a few at home and these were my favorites. The lighting wasn't great but it was still fun to see what we could come up with. I am still going to try again next week when it warms up but what do you think of these? He thinks the first one is too posed and a little cheesy with the hand...but I love his expression. Vote for your favorite!

I just looked at him the other day and thought...."When did you grow up?" I love that he is getting bigger and hate it at the same time. I thought he looked so cute today so I begged him to let me snap a few...I was trying to keep him going longer by telling funny jokes....hence the laughing one! I can still make him laugh and I know that won't last long!

Little baby pulled an April Fools joke on me! Well, I don't know if it was a joke....but man I got some fabulous faces out of him. And we finally have a picture that shows his teeth. I did manage to get some really cute ones....but these were too cute to pass up sharing! So Happy April Fools Day!!

I have been trying to capture more of Baby Love around the house just being the dolly that he is. I sometimes try too hard to get the perfect portrait that I forget the day to day real life stuff! So here are a couple fun captures of Mason just hanging out.

So...the winter weather is keeping us inside...so we keep finding fun locations around the house to take photos. But, we keep ending up in the bathroom with all the great light. Sorry about MORE tub pictures....but come on spring!!! Then we can go play outside again! (here is my most willing, least bribed subject who loves peekaboo games from behind the camera...he is 9.5 months)

10 years ago.....To the day? I broke up with my boyfriend (hubby) and told him I needed some time to figure out what I was going to do with my life....He then called me on Valentine's Day, asked me out and proposed! (what part of this says breaking up???) I was a mess at that point...so I said I would get back to him....(nice!) On the 15th of Feb I finally said YES! and have never regretted that decision. In fact I still have "what if" nightmares....Let's just say that I made the best decision of my life this week 10 years ago!

5 things on my to-do list today...#1 Put away the laundry (I always seem to get it folded just not put away!) #2 Order some photos for a client #3 Help the kiddos get their Valentines ready for tomorrow. #4 Take a thank you gift to my friend. #5 Reorganize my house after baby doll has removed everything from it's proper place! Wait there's more.....LOL

snacks that I enjoy....I love almonds! I love that pumpkin seed flax granola from Costco with Yoplait yogart....yummy! I love oranges....or mangos...or watermelon...or fresh pineapple...or papaya...ohhh I am missing summer! I don't know if you can count it for a snack...but I am a sucker for homemade goodies....yes, cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls, cake..you name it...It doesn't stand a chance just sitting on my counter!

What would I do if I were suddenly a billionaire....Well isn't that a fun thought! Hmmmm....I would invest a bunch...and then I think I would buy my dream house on a couple acres of property. It would have to have a view and room for the boys to run and fruit trees and a green house to grow my little organic veges and herbs all year round! Oh yeah...and it must have an indoor sports court for my 4 boys to play and practice all their favorite sports...Then....I would take my little family all around the world on little trips and let them experience the bigger picture of life. And I with the rest I would be a philanthropist and pay it forward.

3 of my bad habits are....#1 Letting the baby stay in PJ's all day...#2 Picking at my nails #3 Waiting till the last minute to do something...opps!

5 places I have lived... #1 Grew up in Utah #2 Lived in Rexburg Idaho and Provo Utah for undergrad. #3 Lived in Fiji for a 18 months as a missionary for my church. #4 Lived in Idaho Falls as a newlywed. #5 Lived in St. Louis Missouri for 4 years for my husbands doctorate degree. and now I am back to Utah....

5 things most people don't know about me...#1 I love all the arts....I love to sing, ballroom dance, play the piano, and go to the theatre. #2 I used to work for a radio station writing ads and producing commercials. My biggest client was a ....funeral home...lol #3 I graduated from BYU in Elementary Education. (still use it every day!) #4 I love cooking and I am in love with food network. #5 I would love to write a children's book one day to have published...

Tub Time!

This little boy LOVES the tub! Every morning it is the very first thing he asks about..."Can I go in da Tub??" We have even resorted to use it as a form of bribery...Like..."You can get in the tub when your job is done"....Etc. Works like a charm! He is our cleanest child by far!

Teething Baby

This baby who never fusses...is fussing!! He is working on his teeth and this has proved to be a very challenging job! I took these photos of him today in his crib. He was all happy at first and being so cute and then he realized that he was in his bed and he thought I was putting him to bed....so he cried. But I even like the sad ones!!!

I love, love, love my boys...but the frills are just too fun! And the truth be told...my boys look terrible in tutus! LOL So here is my niece...She is in love with the camera and smiles on cue! She is just a week older than my baby boy. Such a fun shoot!

Oakley is getting so big! It just doesn't slow down.....does it?? This boy is wonderful, amazing, sweet, sarcastic and FUN! He is my little sunshine! I love this age but photography is tricky with this age because they do the full cheese ball smile or a half amile that looks painful or that expressionless face....ahhhh! Well we got a few and I'll take it!

He is getting so big...and HEAVY! Almost a whopping 20lbs at only 6 months...whew! Oh...but he is the happiest little baby and best sleeper, traveler, etc. etc. etc. Does he cry? Not very often! What a dream baby! We just can't get enough of that tongue that pops out every time he smiles!
